A deceptively spacious cottage created out of a former dairy and apple store. The Appleloft is attached to the rear of The Cottage and The Farmhouse and has a first-floor open-plan living area with vaulted ceilings looking out across the open countryside and the courtyard.
Excellent cottage with space for family, grandparents and friends.
WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY...
"A fabulous week stay with Jill and her team at Lower Wood Farm. The cottage was clean and has everything you need for a family holiday. The complex provides a perfect family setting, with space for kids to run around and play (including the play barn!) and also has quiet spaces for adults to sit, read, pause and re-energise. The swimming pool is clean and the right temperature. A fabulous stay and highly recommendable."

"Far better than we were expecting, probably the best accommodation of this kind we have experienced. And we have stayed at half a dozen farm cottages in Devon and Cornwall all from Premier Cottages. The grounds are superb and the grandchildren loved the way they could ride around on the freely provided bicycles. The games room is the best we have ever seen. Really liked the swimming pool and the way it could be booked exclusively for one hour. A laundry room is provided although we didn't need to use it."

"A big thank you to Jill and family once again for an amazing stay, this time in, The Appleloft. The decor is lovely and facilities brilliant both inside the cottage and outside in the play areas, our two children of 10 and 14 had lots of fun with all of the sports equipment, badminton, tennis, pool, table tennis, we’ll be back next year, loved it. Thank you for making our holiday truly awesome."

"We have been staying in self catering accommodation for over 30 years and we can honestly say this is the best yet! The accommodation is beautifully maintained and the online pictures and videos do not oversell. Jill was very welcoming and I was personally impressed with the small army of ladies she has to help her on changeover days. Having stayed for two weeks, we saw how much care is lavished on this site and I defy anyone to be disappointed in their stay here. We rarely return to somewhere we have stayed but I can see us coming back here again.
A note on the area - fabulous for wildlife (hares, marsh harriers, seals at Horsey Gap, deer a-plenty) as well as the sea and wonderful Broads in easy access.
Perfect - thank you!"
"The cottage was perfect. 5 star. It was clean, comfortable, everything we could possibly need. The pool was amazing as was the whole area where the cottages are. Peaceful and relaxing. Wish we could have stayed for longer. We will definitely be going here again."
"We’ve just returned from Cape Cottage with our 2 children (7 & 3) and I would have to say it’s one of the most family friendly places we’ve found so far. The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and ideal for children with everything provided such as bed rails, a potty, a step, bath mats, a booster seat and night lights. The site was also absolutely fantastic for children with a huge garden, with swings, slide, climbing frame & shepherds hut plus bikes of all sizes available to borrow and outdoor play equipment. There was also the amazing play barn, just a few steps from our cottage, which was an Aladdin’s Cave of toys & games - doll’s house, dressing up clothes, colouring books, toy kitchen, boxes of dolls, ponies, cars and figures, reading books, baby toys, board games and a jumperoo! My children could have stayed and played all day. Our cottage had its own private garden and bbq just steps away from the play barn so the kids just rushed off to play and we could supervise them easily. Absolutely ideal set up. The pool was also the warmest we’ve had at a farm start before at a toasty 31 degrees: perfect for little ones and indeed my 3 year old was perfectly happy and warm swimming for over an hour. The booking system is great too: hour long private sessions you can book everyday for just your family plus open sessions every day that you can drop in to and share with other guests. Also there is a tiny farm shop selling ice cream just a couple of minutes walk down the farm track. It’s absolutely lovely.
The local area is great too. Unfortunately we didn’t find a great beach for the kids - we tried Hemsby, Caister and Great Yarmouth but found them too windy, and the sea too rough for paddling but we were probably just unlucky with the weather. However we had some brilliant day trips with Pettitts Adventure Park and Bewilderwood absolute gems. Lowerwood farm is absolutely perfectly situated and we never drove more than 30 minutes to get to places. We had to be out by 9am on departure day (so arriving guests can check in by 2pm) but we simply headed to Hirsts farm shop cafe for a lovely cooked breakfast before we drove home. It was very slow going getting out of Norfolk though so next time I might be tempted to drive at night to avoid the traffic.
Overall an absolutely brilliant family holiday in a cottage I just couldn’t fault. Paradise for children of all ages and highly recommended."

"Jill is a lovely host. This is our 4th visit to such a wonderful place. Facilities and beach nearby and the cottages have everything you need for a superb stay. Pool and playbarn are a lovely added feature. See you again soon Jill"
"We booked 3 cottages at Lower Wood Farm as we had 8 adults and 7 children ranging from 6 months to 8 years. Lower wood had everything you need in exceptionally clean and safe environment to cater for everything. The pool was superb as you book a time slot per cottage and allowed to all swim together. The play area was childrens heaven with loads of toys, games and books including pool and table tennis plus outside swings, slides and climbing area. We also used one of the BBQ areas a few times and made use of the fresh herbs out of the garden. Location is excellent as only 10 minutes from Caister Beach. Plenty of local pubs, restaurants and farm shops nearby. Excellent break for us all. Many thanks Jill and Team"
